Floating in orbit around Earth, the International Space Station is a unique and powerful research laboratory built by 16 different countries. Scientists spend months at a time on the ISS, exposing their bodies to conditions unlike anything on Earth. At this Demonstration, a NYSCI Explainer discusses with visitors some of the effects of living in space for that long, such as decreased bone and muscle mass and slowed reactions due to the impact of anti-gravity. Explainers also demonstrate and discuss some of the unique tools implemented for eating and sleeping in Space.
NYSCI offers a series of Demonstrations daily and rotates the schedule of presentations. Please contact us to inquire about Living in Space Demonstration times and availability.
