Explore the Science PlaygroundThe New York Hall of Science unveiled its outdoor Science Playground in 1997 to help the public experience aspects of science and technology through their entire bodies and five senses. This section offers visitors some larger than life experiences, like the a giant spider web to climb and a set of massive musical instruments.
In 2007, NYSCI doubled the size of the popular outdoor Science Playground with 30,000 square feet of exhibits designed for children ages 6 and younger. This section lets NYSCI's younger visitors and their chaperones play in big sand pits and explore a winding path through big trees and a fog machine.
