Earth Day Celebration This Weekend

Queens, N.Y. - Celebrate Earth Day with programs related to recycling and composting, air quality and cars; and add a “wish for the earth” to a communal art project from 10 am - 5 pm on April 25 and 26.
Recycling with Garbagena - In this fun, hands-on educational activity children will learn about recycling, environmental science and awareness. Garbagena will lead a sorting game with visitors (sorting plastic, paper, metal, etc.) Garbagena teaches everyone that we should all be good stewards of our planet and that adults and kids alike have the power to choose what we do with our trash. Free with general admission.
Composting: Earth Worm-A-Rama - Explore nature's cycles while learning about dirt. Free with general admission.
Create a Biosphere - Using an empty soda bottle, visitors can create their own portable biosphere to take home. Materials $3
One Person's Trash - Create your own treasure out of trash and recyclable goods. Visitors can make a sculpture out of common trash items such as cereal boxes, old magazines, buttons, milk jugs and fabric.
