NASA Astronaut Michael J. Massimino Visits New York Hall of Science

Queens, N.Y. — NASA astronaut Michael J. Massimino. Dr. Massimino gave a special presentation, answered questions about his life as an astronaut, and signed autographs at the New York Hall of Scinece on Friday, July 31. The program was part of NASA's "Hometown Heroes" tour. Dr. Massimino's hometown is Franklin Square, NY in Long Island.

Michael Massimino recently returned from a historic Hubble telescope servicing mission. The 19-year-old telescope spent six days in shuttle Atlantis’ cargo bay undergoing an overhaul. While on this mission, Dr. Massimino was the first human in history to “Tweet” from space.

A pre-event photo opportunity with Dr. Massimino took place in the new Rocket Park Mini Golf exhibition.
