Interactive Design Contest Rules

Deadlines

All entries must be submitted by December 18, 11:59 pm, EST. When your game is ready, you may submit it by e-mailing cnordin@nysci.org with your contact information, a brief description of your game, and a link to your game demo. Please do not attach demos to the e-mail.

You may enter as many games as you like.

Game winners will be chosen after the deadline and will be announced on December 21, 2009. The winner must provide instructions for the design’s implementation and operation. The winning game will be made playable on www.nysci.org by January 15, 2010.

The Prize

Honorable Mention Prizes will receive a NYSCI swag bag and an opportunity to also be featured on NYSCI

All submissions must be:

  • Original game concepts by the original creators
  • Usable in any PC browser
  • Created in Flash (900x638 pixels or smaller)
  • Have source code available for review
  • Free of advertisements, profanity, vulgarity and lewdness

Copyright Restrictions

The game may not include any copyrighted content used without the permission of the copyright owner. (i.e., no sprites pulled from Nintendo ROMs, etc…)

Content Restrictions

The content of the game should be family-friendly.

Final Notes

By participating in this contest, contestants grant the New York Hall of Science the right to print, publish, broadcast and use worldwide in any media now known or hereafter developed, including, without limitation, the World Wide Web, the contestant's name, as news or for public information and education without additional consideration or compensation.
