Get Involved (Part 2)

Learn about sustainability with hands-on workshops based on the people and projects featured in the ReGeneration exhibition. Workshops include:

Recycled Energy: Make a USB solar charger that charges everyday electronic devices. Tamara Sabler and Zach Smart will explain how photovoltaic systems have been applied to Biomodd [NYC4], a ReGeneration installation. Space is limited to 10 families. 1 – 3 pm. Recommended for ages 8 and older; children must be accompanied by an adult. $15 per project, plus NYSCI admission ($10 NYSCI members)

Inflatables: Work with ReGeneration artist Shih Chieh Huang to build a giant inflatable structure using found and recycled materials. noon, 12:30 pm, 1 pm, 1:30 pm, 2 pm & 2:30 pm. Free with NYSCI admission.

Imagine 2049 Time Capsule Ceremony: Join us as we bury a community-generated time capsule, filled with ideas for a better, more sustainable society. This is part of Scott Kildall's Imagine 2049, an art installation in ReGeneration. 3:30 pm. Free with NYSCI admission.
