Music Machines
December 28 and 29, 9 am – noon
Construct mechanical musical instruments using everyday objects. In the process, learn about programming automation and interaction with a computer, microcontrollers and sensors. Participants will work together to create a performance using the instruments they construct.
Price for the two-day camp is $100 ($75 members). Recommended for ages 8 and older. Advance Registration Required.
LED Light Painting
December 29, 3 – 5 pm (chldren ages 8 and older, with help of an adult).
You and your child can build your own LED object and use it to create light paintings. Learn about light, electricity and photography.
Price for one adult and up to two children per project is $20 ($15 members), plus NYSCI admission. Advance registration is recommended.
DIY Snackshop: Holidays Raw
December 29, 1 – 2:30 pm
Learn to cook healthy snacks from scratch in this one-and-a-half-hour workshop. Make (and eat!) raw slaw on lettuce boats and raw truffles. Space is limited. Price for one adult and one child is $15 ($10 members), plus NYSCI admission.

Take a photo with a rainbow! Ninety-six RGB LEDs create different rainbow patterns, even spelling words.
Occu-pods
Put your waste to work. Construct domes or wigwam frames from twigs and branches, then insulate them with lost-and-found items to create a comfortable outdoor dwelling. All week long, visitors will help build one great Occu-pod.
Sculpting the Holidays
December 26 and 29. See master sculpture Bill Bywater carve icy creations right before your eyes.
