Ever wonder how scientists learn about climate change? Join NYSCI and other scientists from around the world and become a citizen scientist. As part of the Communicating Climate Change program, families and individuals are invited to take part in an exciting two-hour training session at NYSCI that will introduce them to the science behind climate change and the methods scientists use to track changes.
After the training session, you will visit specific trees around the museum or in your neighborhood to observe and record the life cycle of the tree. As a NYSCI Citizen Scientist, you will then share your observations with other Citizen Scientists.
You will also be provided with fun updates and activities to try at home!
Two training sessions will be offered to help you get involved and become a Citizen Scientist:
