Seeking energetic individuals to work as part of the Visitor Services team to sell tickets and membership, greet/orient groups and assist with their departure procedures.
Perform opening and closing duties.
Handle cash transactions and tech service at admissions.
Perform admissions ticketing and/or membership sales transactions.
Greet and welcome visitors, provide information about NYSCI and its offerings, and assist in resolving visitor concerns.
Meet and greet arriving group visitors, ensuring that the daily reception of groups occurs in an orderly, timely and thorough manner.
Provide orientation and introduction to NYSCI, confirm group numbers, and itinerary.
Assist groups in stowing belongings and lunches in appropriate storage bins and the daily organization and storage of same.
Be conversant in the mission, exhibitions, programs and related content of NYSCI.
Prepare and maintain all materials needed for daily operations.
Perform other duties as required.
Must be available to work weekends.
Able to work in a variety of weather conditions, to be outdoors, and to stand for long periods.
Experience working at a visitor destination, especially in serving visitors a plus.
Superior communications and customer services skills.
Word processing skills (Attendant).
Cash handling experience (Attendant).
College degree or equivalent experience.
